Welcome!

Welcome to Mrs. Alexander and Smith’s Kindergarten Class 2015-2016!

Hello Parents,

We hope you are settling in and adjusting to the weekly school schedule again! We are your co-room parents, Jessica Schmidt (Lexie’s mom) and Christy Romero (Madison’s mom). We are so excited to be able to be the representatives for this kinder class and hope to make this a really fun and eventful year! It is our job to facilitate a team effort between home and school. By communicating with all of you and with the teachers, we hope to make this year flow smoothly for everyone. Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have questions or concerns. You can email either of us:

Jessica Schmidt: jess.runge@gmail.com

Christy Romero: tsrmom08@aol.com

Our Goal

Our main goal this year is to keep everyone as informed and involved as possible. Throughout the year we will be coordinating parties, attending PTA & room parent meetings, and working on any other projects that may arise. We are always open to new, creative ideas and help along the way. Please let us know if you’d like to get involved. We have decided that the easiest way to communicate will be via email.

Parent Volunteers

There are several ways to get involved with Running Springs Elementary. At our orientation several of you signed up to volunteer in the classroom. Parent volunteers will begin the week after conferences. Thank you for taking the time to help out!

Another way to help out within the classroom is to volunteer to assist with the class parties. We will have four class parties this year (Fall Party, Thanksgiving Party, Holiday Party, and End of the Year Party) that will definitely benefit from helping hands! Before each party we will send out an email with a link to Volunteer Spot. This will link you to a website that will show the amount of volunteers we need for each event. This year, in lieu of asking for donations before each party we have decided to collect $30/student. This way no one will be asked to bring anything in prior to our class parties. Hopefully this will simplify things for all of the parent s J

Another way to get involved is to be active in the PTA. There are several opportunities to volunteer throughout the year. Just a few events include health exams, library functions, and legislation action. Please join us at the next PTA meeting! All meetings take place on the second Thursday of the month. We hope to see you there!

For those of you volunteering in our classroom, please remember to sign in and out of the Volunteer Log Book. It is located in the main office. Our school gets credit for all of our volunteer time so please be sure to sign in and out!

Donating Classroom Supplies

Some supplies that are still needed are:

-Glue sticks

-1” White Binders (these can be found at Costco)

Family Fun Night

This year, Family Fun Night will be held on Friday, October 30th from 4-8pm. This event brings families in our community together for a night of games, food, music and fun! This is sure to be a night to remember! Each year we need parent volunteers to help run the booth, set-up, and clean-up. This year we need 4 volunteers. Please let us know if you are interested in helping us out!
